As you may have seen, Advance Pet have made the decision to do a voluntary recall of their Dermocare range. Although we do not stock Advance Pet products we are aware that some of our clients may feed this to their pets. Please be advised that the recall is only their “Dermocare” range of dog food that comes in 3kg, 8kg and 15kg bags.
Although there has been no link found, the food is being recalled after a number of Victoria police canines fell ill with megaesophagus. Megaesophagus is rare condition and is not normally caused by food.
Hundreds of tests have been carried out on the Advance Dermocare dry food and there have been no links made between the condition and the food although it is recommended that all bags of this food be returned to the place of purchase.
Symptoms of megaesophagus include:
- Regurgitation
- Difficulty eating
- Coughing
