Professional Interest in Surgery and Emergency

After graduating from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at The University of Melbourne, James started his career at a fast-paced emergency and referral hospital in Melbourne’s south east.

James joined the Toorak Rd Vet Clinic family in April of 2021, whilst continuing to work part time in an emergency and referral setting and has loved every minute of his time here. Professionally, James is a bit of an all-rounder, with interest in all aspects of complex internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine, as well as preventative health and client education. That said, he has a propensity for small animal surgery, and emergency and critical care.

James has completed further education in small animal orthopaedic surgery and has started studying to complete his small animal surgery memberships, whilst also completing a small animal emergency medicine course, and with plans to complete further education in small animal ultrasonography in early 2023.

Outside of work, James lives with his fiancé, and his pride and joy, George – his beautiful German Wirehaired Pointer. James loves cooking (and eating), swimming, anything related to the beach, sewing, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.
